Aftercare
Tattoo aftercare
Proper aftercare for your fresh tattoo should never be neglected. It heals cleanly and the colours stay vivid.
How do I care for my fresh tattoo in the first hours?
Remove the temporary bandage or film after 2–3 hours. Then clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap – using your hands only, never a washcloth. Afterwards apply a very thin layer of the recommended healing ointment.
How do I moisturise my tattoo correctly?
Wrap the tattoo in cling film again for the first night. After that, apply a thin layer of cream once or at most twice a day for about 2–4 weeks. Even if it itches: do not scratch! After 4–7 days the protective skin starts to flake – this is completely normal.
What should I avoid after getting tattooed?
During the first 3–4 weeks you should avoid the following:
- ✕Full baths – they soften the skin and can wash out colour.
- ✕Sauna, chlorinated pools and swimming for at least 3–4 weeks.
- ✕Tanning beds and direct sunlight.
