What determines the price of a tattoo?
The price comes from the time involved and the artist's experience. A fine, small motif on the forearm is done in one short session; a large realism back piece needs several appointments.
These factors have the biggest impact:
- —Size and level of detail
- —Style (fine lines, blackwork or photorealistic black-and-grey each take different effort)
- —Body area (ribs, hands or neck are trickier and take longer)
- —Colour or black-and-grey
- —Whether it is a fresh motif or a cover-up
Fixed price or hourly rate?
We usually price small to medium motifs as a fixed price and large projects by the hour. With a fixed price you know the cost upfront; with an hourly rate you pay for the time actually needed.
Which model fits your motif is something we clarify during the studio consultation — including an honest estimate of how many sessions are realistic.
Is there a minimum price?
Yes. Even the smallest tattoo has a minimum price, because preparation, sterile materials, the stencil and aftercare apply regardless of size. This minimum covers the fixed effort per session.
Why don't we quote prices over the phone?
A serious price can only be given once we have seen your motif, the desired size and the body area. That is why we arrange appointments exclusively in person — so you get a reliable figure instead of a rough guess.
